System administration
My role in the lab is to be the system administrator. I administrate the lab's members Linux workstations. I am also in charge of supervising our Linux cluster (166 nodes), used for heavy computation. The Linux cluster is used for running the 3D-JIGSAW server, and for diverse simulations used in the course of the laboratory's research. In addition, I am providing some support and advise to graduate students and post-docs in bioinformatics, programming techniques and biology.
Research
In addition to the system administration, I am involved in various research projects in the lab. My main interests are in Protein Structure Prediction and Protein Docking. On the protein structure prediction side, I am currently working on an entirely new algorithm for the 3D-JIGSAW server. On the protein docking side I am specially interested in protein surface curvature and the role of aromatic residues in protein interactions.

Fun Stuff
My hobby is called geocaching, the game is to find hidden boxes with a log book using Global Positioning System.
